Civic lovers, read the following carefully. If you own a civic you know how great they are for tuning. Straight from the factory you can make some minor changes to create some major power increases. In this test, we tried out an STchiptuning chip. This little box hooked up next to the factory computer, took about fifteen minutes to install, and we were on our way to the dyno.
It didn't take long to notice the improvements of this simple upgrade. Acceleration had experienced an obvious jump, and throttle response felt like we'd just added a full cat back exhaust. The Civic can still feel a bit sluggish sometimes and this modification brought this vehicle to life. Wheel spin was a bit more difficult to avoid so a bit more attention was needed to keep the tires stuck to the road. Acceleration, top speed, and above all driving pleasure are all greatly increased. Our dyno testing confirmed what we had felt.

In terms of pure power, our dyno testing provided some noticeable gains. The power had increased by 19 horsepower, and the torque increased by 16 foot pounds. The increase in performance was certainly worth it, an for the price we paid (about forty dollars shipped at the time of this writing), it was probably the best automotive value we've experienced in quite awhile.
